Conservation

Balule is a haven for endangered species and we are dedicated to protecting and preserving the delicate ecological balance of flora and fauna. Balule conducts a variety of vital conservation efforts such as its elite wildlife monitoring and protection activities, large scale rhino dehorning, alien species eradication, erosion control, water resource management and sustainable habitat protection. It is only through efforts like these that we can ensure future generations will be able to experience the inspiring natural beauty of the rich biodiversity of the Greater Kruger's Open System.

Community

Balule is committed to uplifting the Hoedspruit and Phalaborwa communities that neighbour the reserve. We strive to achieve this through initiatives focused on education, economic empowerment and environmental awareness. These include school scholarships, early childhood development, after-school care programmes, youth environmental and adult development skills. These efforts are coordinated under the auspices of Balule’s conservation and community outreach Trusts, and your contribution can make a meaningful difference to lives of those we endeavour to support.
